Overview

Harmony Solar Kilkenny Ltd (HSKL), a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB, is developing a new renewable energy project, Clashwilliam Solar Farm, located in the southeast in Co Kilkenny.

Construction of the 42MW solar farm will begin in Spring 2025. Once complete, it will generate enough capacity to power more than 10,500 homes, farms and businesses.

We are committed to engaging closely with the local communities surrounding the site to ensure the successful delivery of Clashwilliam Solar Farm by 2026.

As part of ESB’s Net Zero to 2040 strategy, our ambition is to develop and acquire 1.8 GW of solar by 2030 and we will continue to develop our growing solar energy portfolio, partnering with others to help deliver this.

Clashwilliam Solar Farm is located in Co Kilkenny, approximately 4.7km west of the village of Gowran and 4km northeast of the village of Bennettsbridge in the townland of Smithstown.
